Gender reveal parties and announcements are the newest and most exciting trend for expecting parents. With more and more people discovering the sex of their baby before birth, parents have become pretty creative with sharing the news. We have compiled a list of our favorite gender reveal ideas for you to try!

Confetti Cannons

You’re having a baby! What better way to celebrate than confetti? These confetti cannons are a guaranteed to add a “pop” to your party!

Surprise Box

We are obsessed with this darling surprise box from The Cake by Hannah. If you are wanting to join your guest in being surprised ask the doctors office to conceal the gender in an envelope and pass it off to a trusted friend or professional to create your box. No peeking!

Piñata

A classic birthday tradition gets an adorable new purpose with announcing your baby’s gender. You can create a kid-friendly pinata by filling it with gender color candy and nick-nacks. Or, you can fill it with confetti, flower petals, glitter or balloons for the more grown-up crowd. We love this Stork Piñata from The House That Lars Built.

Silly String

A fun way for adults and kids to join in on the gender reveal announcement is through a silly string war. You will need to let store clerks or close friends in on the gender in order for the gender reveal to remain a surprise for you. Just wrap some butcher paper around the silly string bottles to keep color a secret during the party until you are ready to let them rip. The couple can join in on the fun or let the crowd spray them with the announcement. (A Journey into Surrogacy)

Squirt Guns

This is fun and great for kids to join in. You can make it a family affair and allow the whole family to have a squirt gun war or involve your guest and let them soak you. (Katie Weber)

Sweet Treat

Leave the surprise for last with dessert! Bake a sweet treat with the gender color on the inside. You and your guest won’t be able to wait to sink their teeth into this sweet surprise. (Betty Crocker)
