My husband and I are lost currently. Our daughter who is 14 months old scratch herself on her arms constantly and there is no rash or abrasions on her at all, we are debating on taking her to the doctor until we learn a little more, have any of you ever dealt with this and what were your solutions, or should we just go ahead and take her to the doctor??

Hey Whitney, I’m so sorry to hear about this happening! This might be dry skin, the weather around this time of year being colder could just be drying her skin out and that could be the cause, good luck

Maybe you should go and see a doctor. For now it may seem like there is nothing happening. Like no rush or whatsoever. It could have been better you seek a specialist. It might be something more than you think of. But a specialist will have more information of what is going on. Maybe because of the experience and related. But also you should check on the weather. It might be that which is affecting her. Try to go to the doctor. I am sure there you will find a solution. You should also note the hospital you will be going. Some hospital do not have proper medications for children. I had a situation where the doctor did an improper procedure to my child. So you really have to be careful with the doctor you see. Not all are authentic. Or should I say not all are good in the work that they do. Remembering that the child is so delicate.

So we took her to her pediatrician and they said that it was just dry skin! We have some prescribed lotion for her and it’s since gone away. Thank you, ladies, for your responses! <3

It is good that you found help. This is the reason I always prefer people to go to the hospital when they notice something wrong. Children not being able to talk means a lot. They might be going through a lot of things. But since they cannot express themselves they end up keeping quite about it. In return they suffer in silence. So as to avoid this whenever a parent notices something that is bot normal. They should rush the child to the hospital. In your case it is good that you noticed it early. Because the child might end up suffering for long. Concerning the prescription that you were give. I was not aware that a child could suffer from dry skin. Does it mean that you never used to apply baby oil on her. Or what was the cause of the illness. It could have been better if you had elaborated more on the same. I believe there might be parents out there who would wish to know more on the same.
