The low ovarian reserve is a serious problem only when a woman faces problem in getting pregnant. Generally, women experience low ovarian reserve in their 30’s and 40’s after they have had children earlier in life. IVF success rate generally depends on the number of mature eggs produced. A poor quality or less quantity of egg production can decrease the chances of successful IVF treatment. In few cases decreased ovarian reserve is a condition that results due to the destruction of ovarian tissues. Ovarian tissues are destroyed through surgical removal of a part or complete ovary. While removing ovarian cyst there is a risk of damaging the ovarian tissues that can result in less quantity of egg production. Decrease ovarian reserve can also decrease the chances of Pregnancy. Decreased in ovarian reserve is mainly caused due to the aging of the ovaries. As the age increases, there is a decline in the eggs produced in the ovaries. In few cases, the patients can have a diminished ovarian reserve but intact ovarian function.
