The following is a list of important qualities to look for in a potential egg donor. Ideally, egg donors should. Be between the ages of 21 and 30** and exhibit maturity, responsibility, and dependability. Be in good physical health as documented by history and testing. Be in good psychological health as documented by history and testing. Be of proportionate height and weight. Being overweight may affect egg quality, as well as necessitate higher doses of stimulation drugs to create follicles. Which translates to additional costs for the recipient/intended parent(s). Be drug free. Be a non-smoker of tobacco and marijuana. Have regular menstrual periods and not use Depo-Provera. Have an FSH level on cycle day three of no more than eight, preferably under six. Have an Estradiol (E2) level on cycle day three of less than 50. Have an Antral follicle count of at least 15.

I am an infertile person too. I hope people learn from this. Science has come a long way it is helping everyone. Parents are getting their happiness through procedures like surrogacy and IVF. I wish more people go for it. I hope more people support it. Take care. Wishing everyone good luck.
May 29, 2018 at 5:48 pm #2518ezabelParticipantYes, I do have heard about using donor eggs of the person that is healthy. And a non-smoker. Though I have not much knowledge about being a donor or having donor eggs. I have just heard of people having IVF with donor eggs. I have also heard about the donor egg database. It is said that they keep this for intended parents who could find their perfect match easily. Is it so? I appreciate each effort that either team or donor does to help intended parents.

Age does hinder fertility but there are many lucky ones who have conceived despite being overage. That what amazes me, the distribution of privileges. And age has hindered my fertility now I have to move from my own eggs to donor eggs. Hopefully, we get lucky this time around.

The clinic I am visiting for this procedure has above 100+ DE and I have no idea which one to opt for. This post of yours is so informative. I made a list of things you have mentioned in your post. I will be cross-checking this with the database. The forums can sometimes prove to be so helpful. Thank you once again.

Although it uses the eggs from the genetic mom but some times the eggs are not of good qualit. In this case the eggs are taken from the egg donor. The egg donor has to fulfill certain conditions before donating the eggs. Unless these prerequisites are fulfilled the donor cannot give the eggs. The foremost thing is the individual health. The donor has to be physically fit. She must not have any serious disae like HIV. She must have a good collection of eggs. Her eggs must be healthy. The age of the donor also means a lot. The donors less than 35 can give better eggs as compared to those exceeding this age. It is better to consult the fertility clinics for the egg donors. The clinics have the profiles of the possible egg donors. As they are already tested, they can do a great job. Choosing the right donor is very important to proceed ahead.

July 16, 2018 at 10:48 am #4866sara_joyParticipantOh, this is so incredible. You had a very bad experience with this clinic. I have also heard many negative comments about this clinic adonis. They only waste your time. They do not give you proper replies. They do not bother to care for their patients. This is totally ridiculous. How can this clinic have such unprofessional behavior with their clients? This is not fair at all. People trust this clinic with their lives. But they have such strange attitude towards their clients. I think people should stop contacting this clinic. We need to spread awareness among people regarding this issue. We have to make maximum people aware of these scams. We should make more threads to spread awareness. We should save people from getting into the same problem. It is very hard to cope with. Being infertile and not able to conceive naturally is very hard. People went to clinics for their treatments but clinics like Adonis plays with the sentiments of the people. The egg donor has to fulfill certain conditions before donating the eggs. Unless these prerequisites are fulfilled the donor cannot give the eggs. The foremost thing is the individual health. so look for the best clinics.
August 19, 2018 at 12:02 pm #5811TrishaParticipantProbably the first thing people are attracted to when choosing an egg donor is the look of the donor. Many people want to match their own ethnicity and their appearance. I have always felt that a donor’s physical appearance is extremely important because, unlike intelligence, it cannot be changed by nurture. You cannot predict or control or change how your child will look. But skin tones, body type, facial features all play a part In determining the likelihood of the child’s physical appearance. Intelligence is a characteristic which is the second most frequent request we get at The Egg Donor Program when recipients are choosing an egg donor. There are many things in our donors’ profiles which signal intelligence: SAT scores (verified), Grade Point Average, educational degrees, occupation, parent and sibling occupations, academic awards, favorite books, essays she writes. Much of the child’s innate intelligence is going to come from the donor but remember that the biological father is also contributing as well as the environment which plays a big part in shaping intelligence. A great family health history is another important thing to consider in choosing an egg donor. No family is perfect but we are looking for a reasonable health history free of mental health problems. The Egg Donor Program works with one of the top geneticists in the country to provide a detailed medical report on the donor’s family as well as an assessment of the risks. In addition, there are many genetic tests which are available to donors to assess their carrier status.
