    Hi IP’s!

    Does anyone have a list of independent surrogacy consultants? We are still deciding between doing surrogacy with an agency or doing it independently and I would like to know how much consultants typically charge and how much involvement they would have in the process.

    Doing a google search the typical agency fees are around 25k. Then you have other fees for professionals.

    Thanks- Im hoping more people show up here as I have asked this same question in the FB groups only to get spammed with agencies trying to over sell their services.

    I am a surrogate, currently on my third journey and have been running an independent consulting firm for two years and have helped couples all over the world to find surrogates and have babies. My rates are fixed at $10,000 + tax.

    There are clinics that do surrogacy without agencies and arrange legal support doing all paperwork for IPs so that you don’t need to overpay. It would be $30-60k, depending on clinic, for entire program in total. But it’s in Ukraine, don’t know how it works in the US. If there is a chance to do everything without any help I would go without consultant

    in your case it depends with how much you have. Infertility tends to be costive. This is due to the services. Many services offered are usually expensive. In your case an agency will more expensive. When you are dealing with an independent it looks rather better. But all in all the decision is yours. I think both offer nearly the same services. It is just the agency have more protection. They have the legal work and also a lengthy procedure to follow up. However, the price might be high but with it. When I talk of the independent they do not have ,much of legal work. Most of them are cheaper compared to agencies. But when yo go to the hospital this one also varies. Some clinics have agencies which they work with. That means to have surrogacy in that clinic you have to use their agent. While other give you the freedom to choose.

    I have been dealing with surrogacy for quite a while. I think I can be if help. I personally I am a professional surrogate. Currently I am not dealing with any consultancy. I have been doing surrogacy from an independent point of view. And I feel it is best this way. This Is because of disappointments. I once worked for an agency as a surrogate. I often fell out with the agents. We did not agree to many things. You should also note that the agents are more expensive. When you are dealing with an independent it is cheap and easy. The price is also affordable. I would advise you to do it independently. Working with an agent sometimes prove to be difficulty. Maybe I am the one who worked with the wrong group. But you can try to ask from people who have been through your case. I have been that way before. So I am talking out of experience.

    Hi there. Good luck with your search. Independent surrogates are usually cheaper than an agency. You could get matched with possible surrogates on Facebook. There are FB groups that can be helpful. Do look into those. Let me know if you want more information.

    Hi there. Independent surrogates are a good idea. They are a lot more inexpensive as compared to an agency. I hope you manage to find a good one Try looking at FB groups. There are also surrogacy forums that might be helpful. Also, do look at listings on Craigslist etc. Do be careful there though.

    Hi, there. You have asked the right question. I had also been thinking about the rates for agencies and clinics. I found out at clinics, they are always over 20K USD, which I think is worth it. However, if you want to go with a surrogate mother not working with either a clinic or agency that will be cheaper. There is no denying that for sure. So, if you want someone cheaper, go with an independent one. However, I don’t know how you are going to be able to find one. I know it is so hard to find an independent one, cause most of them tend to work with clinics or agencies

    Just adding to my previous post. When going with an agency surrogate, the agency usually deals with the legal issues. I mean, you must know how bureaucratic the surrogacy process can be. With a clinic or agency, you can rest assured that you won’t have to deal with any of that. The clinic or agency will take care of the whole paperwork for you. I consider it a great boon to couples. I guess you should think about this one as well. Good luck to you!

    Hi, Callisy. Thanks for sharing this with us. I am sure everyone here appreciates first-hand insight into independent surrogacy. So sorry to hear that you didn’t get along with the agencies. How many babies have you carried so far? I am also considering surrogacy. So, I just want to get to know more about the process from the surrogate’s point of view. I would love to read your response.     It seems taht you are mad at your in law. That is not good. Everybody ahs a different opinion. And it could be best if you respected that. The same way taht you feel surrogacy is the answer to your problem. Then it could be best taht you let her. I understand taht she is acting rude. But returning the same attitude to her will not help. Rather focus on being good. Try to explain to her the benefits. That you do not have any other option. And taht if she really wants a grand child then she should let you do what you want. It will be for the benefit of everyone in the family. It could have been best if you had a friend that went through the same. So taht she can explain it to her first hand. All in all, I wish you the best inn how you will make her respect your opinion.
