When it comes to choosing a fertility clinic to carry out a surrogacy process, one should check if they have their own laboratory, and the fertility treatments they use. Oftentimes, intended parents see almost no difference between clinics, but the truth is that each one follows different protocols and uses a varied range of techniques. A medical facility must have been recognized as such, and you have the right to ask them for the accreditation they posses. This will guarantee that their facilities meet the quality standards required. Getting information about audits and certificates of quality is important as well. The renown and prestige of the doctor is important, but one should not forget that a surrogacy arrangement requires teamwork to succeed. Aside from the doctor, as an intended parent you will be in touch with lab, nursing, and administration staff. For this reason, close communication and trust are key.

You should be confident of the Doctor’s experience, and how long he has been performing the procedures that will affect your case there. You should also be given full attention while at the clinic and not feel like just a number. You will need to be comfortable, relaxed and confident in the clinic and their ability to help you achieve a pregnancy. You will want to have access to the staff when you have a question, and have a prompt response when a problem or concern arises. Another important factor for many people when choosing a clinic is cost. Some factors to consider are the costs of fertility drugs, which can cost thousands of dollars; ICSI; assisted embryo hatching; embryo cryopreservation; and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). These drugs and procedures can quickly increase the overall cost for treatment. You should not choose a Center based solely on its statistics, but be sure that the clinic you are choosing has a high rate above the national average.

Many fertility clinics also serve as surrogacy clinics. These medical professionals help intended parents diagnose their fertility problems and offer fertility treatments, like in vitro fertilization. When intended parents choose to move on from those failed treatments, fertility clinics can usually help them complete a surrogacy process as well. Working with the perfect surrogacy clinic is an important part of feeling secure in your surrogacy journey, and the medical process will be the part of the process where you finally feel like that journey is actually beginning. If you ever have questions about choosing a surrogacy clinic that’s best for you, make sure you do diligent research and don’t be afraid to ask your surrogacy agency or surrogacy attorney for recommendations to get started. It’s encouraged that you speak with your surrogacy clinic when you first start considering surrogacy to learn more about what your personal journey may look like.

In many surrogacy journeys, the process of finding a surrogacy clinic is completed before a match is even made. Many intended parents already have an existing relationship with a fertility clinic who will serve as their surrogacy clinic on this new path to parenthood. However, if you haven’t yet found a surrogacy clinic to work with, you have a great number of experienced professionals to choose from. If you decide to work with a surrogacy agency, they may refer you to certain surrogacy clinics that they commonly work with and have a special relationship with. On the same note, many surrogacy clinics have existing relationships with certain gamete banks, if you’ll need to use a sperm, egg or embryo donation in your surrogacy process. Before you commit to a surrogacy clinic, therefore, make sure that you are comfortable with the amount of choice allowed you in this process.

Parental rights aren’t guaranteed after a surrogate pregnancy. The law continues to change as reproductive technology and the very definition of a “parent” changes. There isn’t a federal law on surrogacy and state laws vary. After a surrogate pregnancy in some states, you may still have to pass adoption proceedings to gain legal custody of the child. In other states, a “declaration of parentage” before birth lets you avoid having to “adopt” the baby. To protect your rights as parents-to-be — and the rights of the child you’re hoping to have — hire an attorney who specializes in reproductive law in your state. He can write a surrogacy contract that clearly spells out what everyone needs to do. A contract like that may help if legal issues come up after birth. It can also outline agreements about a variety of possible scenarios with the pregnancy, such as what happens if there are twins or triplets.

While surrogacy has become a new hallmark in building families, one important question remains among people interested. Due diligence, homework and research is an important job not to be overlooked. And while budget concerns may exist, it’s important not to let a more reasonably priced agency be the driving force. One must take into consideration the quality of the surrogates at the agency, the support and professionalism of the agency, an agency in good standing with affiliations with top fertility specialists and third party reproductive attorneys adept in national and international laws. Surrogacy is one of the most significant decisions one will make. Partnering with a company such as Extraordinary Conceptions, an international egg donor and surrogate agency, will navigate a couple through a seamless process, without glitches. For future parents, finding the best surrogacy agency means locating one with official brick and mortar headquarters. A top-shelf agency helps ensure that its surrogates have passed a rigorous medical and psychological screening.

While surrogacy may not have been the original pathway one decided to take in building their family, it is indeed a road chosen to start planting a family tree. When one is unable to carry a baby, there are other opportunities to help make parenthood dreams become a reality. Infertility is acute. The possibility of an individual personally affected by it or knows someone who is struggling with infertility has become a sobering reality. Embedded within the same chapter of surrogacy might very well be two husbands who need a surrogate to carry their baby. What was once thought of as something for high profile couples to obtain, surrogacy has become a part of American culture. Heterosexual couples, single individuals, and the LGBT community are learning that they, too, can become future parents through surrogacy. You can try Bio tex clinic, I had treatment with them and the services were satisfying and very affordable.

Health is very important. There is no way to overplay the importance of good health with a pregnant mom in her 40s. The female body needs a certain amount of calories and nutrients and then baby comes along and demands even more. Mom needs to take her prenatal vitamin and eat healthy foods every day. The additional calories consumed should be in the form of protein and not fats and sugar. Prenatal testing takes a new turn. Women who give birth in their 40s are more likely to have a child with chromosomal disorders. For this reason, the obstetrician will request the mom undergo an amniocentesis to test for Down’s syndrome and other disorders that could affect the health of baby. Start or maintain an exercise program. No matter the age of mom, exercise is essential during pregnancy. Not only does exercise prepare mom for labor, but it can help with reducing the chance of blood clots and swelling.

Women who lose weight with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) do three very important things: Exercise. Eat a nutrient-dense diet. Reduce their stress. You might be thinking to yourself: “Sounds great, but how do I do all that without hiring a nutritionist, a yoga teacher and a personal assistant?” Making any kind of diet and lifestyle changes is difficult and we often need the support of those around us. One person you may not think of providing support is your doctor. You may want to consider approaching your doctor for help. One study found that women who had regular 6 monthly appointments with their doctor were able to lose more weight than those who didn’t. Their doctor gave advice on a healthy diet and lifestyle and prescribed medication if it was necessary. In the interest of covering all of the bases, I think we need to look at exercise In relation to PCOS and weight loss. We know that exercise is hugely beneficial to managing PCOS and its symptoms (you can read more about that here). Interestingly, though, exercise does not necessarily result in weight loss for women with PCOS and a restricted calorie diet is one of the most effective ways to lose weight with PCOS

As a general rule, you should probably hold off on trying to conceive again for 18 to 23 months – about the same waiting period recommended for women who deliver vaginally. That may seem like a long time, but you’ve just had major surgery in addition to giving birth and you need to let your body recover and replenish lost nutrients. For instance, you may be anemic because of the iron transferred to your baby and placenta during pregnancy, as well as the blood loss you suffered during childbirth. Women who deliver via c-section lose twice as much blood – about two pints on average – as women who deliver vaginally. Studies have also shown that women who conceive less than six months after giving birth may have a higher risk for complications such as a ruptured uterus or a premature or low-birth weight baby. You’ll need some time to adjust to your new life as a parent, too, before you add another baby into the mix. By giving yourself plenty of time to heal and to get acclimated to parenthood, you’ll give your next baby the best start in life.

As a parent, you’re well aware of how detail-oriented children will be. Children whose family looks a bit different from others may start to question how they came to be. As they start to get older, children become well aware that two dads or a single mom don’t fit the standard equation. If your child was conceived via gay surrogacy or another form of surrogacy, it’s important to have the “How was I born?” discussion as soon as possible. This will allow your child to normalize the process and be comfortable and prideful in their own story. For some parents, the idea of telling their child they were conceived in a non-traditional way can be scary. Yet, research has shown that keeping your child’s origin a secret can impact not only the child but the parents as well. One study found that children born via surrogacy have “higher level of adjustment difficulties” and mothers who kept their child’s origin a secret had “higher levels of distress.” Not explaining your child’s true origin can cause feelings of guilt, shame, and distrust. It may also cause them to view surrogacy in a negative light. Knowing how we came to be gives us a sense of trust, self-esteem, and, most importantly, identity.

For hopeful parents, the benefits of surrogacy seem obvious: it is a way to make their dreams of parenthood come true. However, the hundreds of families who have completed the surrogacy process will assure you that the pros of surrogacy extend far beyond that. Here are just a few of the advantages of surrogacy for intended parents: For those who have struggled with infertility, LGBT couples, and those with medical conditions that make pregnancy unsafe, surrogacy is often the answer to years of unsuccessful attempts to create a family. Surrogacy allows for genetic connections. Gestational surrogacy often enables one or both parents to maintain a biological relationship with their child. Surrogacy creates relationships. Many intended parents become close with their surrogate and her family during the process, developing meaningful bonds that can last a lifetime. Surrogacy involves few surprises. A legally binding contract outlining everyone’s expectations will be negotiated and signed prior to the embryo transfer, so everyone will know exactly what to expect during the surrogacy process.

In gestational surrogacy, a surrogate is not related to the child that she carries. Instead, a previously created embryo will be transferred into her uterus. If an egg or sperm donor is required, the fertility clinic will handle much of this surrogacy process while we oversee it. If the intended mother’s eggs will be used to produce an embryo, she will be administered a course of drugs to stimulate the production of multiple eggs. On the other hand, many of our intended parents have remaining embryos from previous IVF cycles. Usually, these can also be used for the embryo transfer process. Once all conditions have been satisfied, the embryo will be transferred to your surrogate. A few months later, once a healthy pregnancy is confirmed, base compensation of monthly payments will begin. Supporting the surrogate is a very important part of the overall surrogacy process, especially at this stage. Her surrogacy specialist will be available for her during every step of the pregnancy, and we educate and encourage intended parents to be there for her as well in any way they can.

The cost of surrogacy internationally has been rising. Low-cost surrogacy destinations typically attract large numbers of eager parents, and when that happens there is a sudden “boom” in IVF and surrogacy births. Of course with growth also comes the growth of malfeasance and profiteering. “Low cost” often comes hand-in-hand with corruption. The knee-jerk reaction of some governments has been to prohibit surrogacy rather than expend energy to understand and legislate based on a long-term vision. Some excellent and affordable destinations have recently closed their borders to foreigners looking for surrogacy, including India and Thailand. The result is inflation in the cost of surrogacy worldwide. Surrogacy costs vary from country to country, as does the success rate and legal requirements. Often there are non-standard expenses that can add thousands to your final price. Sometimes these costs are obvious. Other times the costs are more subtle.

The problem is, clinics aren’t compelled to disclose their success rates, so it’s impossible to compare all clinics. Even when they do, the pretty graphs on clinic websites can be difficult to understand. So when you look at clinic websites and you see the “pregnancy rate” displayed as opposed to the “live birth rate”, take note, especially if you’re over 40. While the industry may view pregnancy rates as a marker of success, the women who lost their babies may not. Prospective patients should ask their clinic to disclose both the pregnancy and the live birth success rates for their age group. While there is no obligation to provide this information, it may reflect poorly on their service if they refuse. Using budget IVF clinics can also affect success. These have been described as “cheap and nasty” by some in the industry but that’s certainly not the case. You just need to know what you’re getting into. Basically, budget clinics use low-dose hormone stimulation protocols so patients spend less on the drugs. But it’s generally only suited to younger patients. It also produces fewer eggs. This means fewer resources are required to perform lab procedures and that’s probably the real reason it’s so cheap.
